How a VPS Turns a Personal VPN into a Digital Freedom Tool
Your own VPN on a VPS is not the same as a commercial VPN subscription. You control the entire stack: the server, the protocol (WireGuard or OpenVPN), logging (or rather, the absence of it). No third party sees your traffic.
You have no "neighbors" in terms of users sharing a VPN service. Your IP is not listed in VPN provider blocklists — it is just a regular European hosting IP.
Setup takes 15–30 minutes: install WireGuard, generate keys, create a client config. Done — you have a personal VPN with maximum speed and no restrictions.
For a VPN, jurisdiction matters. Switzerland is the best choice: a neutral country, strict privacy laws, outside the pressure zone of both Russian and American regulators. Germany is an alternative with better ping for the CIS.
